EXPERIENCE SUMMARY

Ms. Federis is an associate with an emphasis in intellectual property issues and civil litigation. She has handled litigation work in federal and state courts covering different areas, including, but not limited to, trademarks, copyrights, patent, real estate, employment law, and business disputes.

Prior to studying law, she received a B.A. in Legal Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and M.A. in International Political Economy from the University of Kent in Brussels, Belgium. While in law school, she was a judicial extern in the civil department of the San Francisco Superior Court, and also worked as an in-house legal intern at Walmart.com. Before joining The Patel Law Firm, Ms. Federis worked as a contracts specialist for Time Warner Cable, and as a law clerk at boutique intellectual property law firms.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROSECUTION & LITIGATION

Ms. Federis is skilled in prosecuting trademarks and copyrights. She has successfully filed trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and copyrights with the United States Copyright Office. She also has experience in handling various oppositions/cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board.

Ms. Federis is familiar with patent, trademark and copyright law and uses this knowledge to successfully prosecute and defend the intellectual property of her clients.
